  2. Purpose of Strategy Posters • Reference for all students • Visual reminders of ways to approach problems • Provide starting places • Can guide students to use the strategy • Show examples of strategy use

  3. Directions for creating strategy posters for your class • Outcome: 2 posters • Addition and subtraction • Select 2 strategies for each operation • Most helpful and powerful for your class • Decide on the names you will use for each • Consider names that can be used across classes

  4. Directions for creating strategy posters for your class • Design a poster(s) that will serve as a clear reference for students to select and use the strategies • Consider starting places, examples, amount of print, etc. You may do a draft tonight or put your poster on tagboard

  5. Providing feedback through a “gallery walk” • Display your poster • Using post-it notes, provide feedback and suggestions on others’ posters • Return to your poster, and note any revisions you would make on your poster • You may take your posters once we have photographed them
