  2. Today: • First Fifteen write • Pass out journals – decorate journal • Journal write: What is new to you this year? What do you hope to learn in language arts class? What are your goals for this new part of your life? • If time permits: Illustrate journal write and use at least two captions. • If time permits: Go back to First Fifteen write and explain –why do you tell stories two different ways depending on your audience (who you are writing/speaking with)?
