Work planning ESRs, Work Permits, Contractors/vendors • Integrated Safety Management (ISM) • All work is planned ! • ESR – annual review and updates as needed • Work Permit – single event or 1 year standing • Contractor/Vendor – need CVO and possibly other BNL training in order to do work at the Lab. This is covered in a Work Permit. Work Planning?

  4. Unsupported computers Unsupported operating systems are not permitted to be plugged into the BNL network. All computers must be registered, have patched OS, run an anti-virus program which is up-to-date.

  11. Eyewash and safety shower policy BNL has adopted an interim policy to be more compliant with OSHA in regard with eyewashes and safety showers. When working with corrosive materials the door to the lab has to be left open for access to eyewashes and showers in the hallways. There is a work order to install door holders on all lab doors working with corrosive materials.

  12. Working with nanomaterials BNL has a draft procedure for working with nanomaterials. This draft along with input from the 5 DOE Nanocenters will be the basis of the new DOE Policy. During ESR annual reviews we will be looking at what controls are in place.

  13. P2 money for Hg thermometer replacement & oil-free pumps • CMPMSD submitted 2 P2 proposals this year. We received funding for both. • Hg thermometer replacement - $1K • Please contact Ken Sutter if you have any. I have some digital replacement thermometers available. • Oil-Free Pumps - $6K • Plan to partially fund replacement of oil rotary pumps.
