Love this story!By Ms MissyI love this book. The characters, the format (switching tenses between chapters gives the story a movie-like feel, with flashbacks and right-now timelines), the tone. It's funny and touching and relatable. One of my favorite reads, ever.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Five StarsBy MandySo good.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Even before Jen disappeared, Jimmy knew his best friend was leaving him behind. While she attracts stares from boys and men, fifteen-year-old Jimmy still passes for a child at the movies. He takes refuge in the past, before their friendship and life became so complicated. Shes his favorite subjectin front of the camera and otherwisebut photos cant capture what he really wants. Yet Jimmy remains devoted, even lying for her when she runs off with strangersmenshes met online.Jimmy feels that Jens disappearance is his fault, just like the twelve-acre blaze he starts in the canyon near their trailer park. And hes holding on to a secret that no one can drag out of himnot the taunting kids at school, an apathetic psychologist, or his despairing mother. Revolving between past and present, Paul W. Buchanans vivid snapshot vignettes evoke a young mans struggle with oncoming adulthood, heartbreak, and incredible loss. About the AuthorPaul W.
