  1. Question 3 What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

  2. There are several differences between main stream and independent film. • Firstly main stream films are medium to big budget they will have big stars which are well-known, the genre and content of the film will attract a wide range of audience, it will be high production value and use expensive special effects such a CGI and build big budget sets and use a number of different locations. To advertise it there will always be a high profile marketing campaign such as trailers, billboards, large viral campaigns and TV awards. • Independent films are low budget, the genre and content attract more of a exclusive audience, character and narrative drive the film so does not contain any expensive special effects, small marketing campaign. Main stream & INDEPENDENT FILMS

  3. Both main stream and independent production companies have produced well known successful thriller films. • Independent production companies such as Revolver and Pathe have produced films such as ‘kidulthood’ 2006 or ‘adulthood’ 2008 • Main stream companies such as New Line Cinema and Paramount have produced more well-known thrillers such as ‘Shuter island’ 2010 and ‘Se7en’ 1995 Thrillers

  4. I think my film would be in the category of independent films. This is for a number of reasons firstly there is no well-known famous actors in it, secondly we didn’t have a high budget so therefore didn’t use any expensive special effects or film in a vast locations, our location throughout was set in a woods so no money was spend on travelling or hiring a location. My film

  5. After researching a number of different independent film production companies I feel like Dogtooth Films would be best fit for my film. Dogtooth Films is a progressive media production company that applies the principles of narrative driven films. I feel like this production company would be best for my film as it produces dark realistic films similar to mine. Independent film companie for my film.

  6. As my film is an independent film it is likely to be shown in small independent cinemas as apposed to big chain cinemas. Independent films are unlikely to have a big box office premier but rather be shown in small film festivals. DISTRIBUTION OF MY FILM
