LHC Section Meeting Project description • Requirements • First idea : • A system centralizing SPS access requests to be more efficient in case of unforeseen machine stop • A simple web interface for people requesting access • A Java application protected via login/password for requests administration • Early 2008 : • Possibility to include LHC in the system

LHC Section Meeting Project status • Version 1 <=> Beta version • Web page regrouping basic functionalities ready • Planning could be retrieved easily • Way requests are performed is straight • Database schema already taking into account multiple accelerators, user roles, access points... • Request Management application is in beta version, does basic tasks • Accept/reject request • Send mail • End request

  7. LHC Section Meeting Project status • Prospects • Database : • Structure flexible up to a certain point. Some information could be easily added (access key required or not...), others would take more time to implement (user input after access) • LHC Information should be filled up • Web pages : • Possibility to check request status by user name could be added • Administration Application : • Should implements ways of filtering request (by date, description, name...) • Do not manage request per accelerator yet (need some time to be implemented)

LHC Section Meeting Conclusions • First version is almost ready • Most of the remaining work is on the access administration application • Covering basics requirements • Database should be filled in • For extension or new requirements covering • Priorities should be given with respect of other projects (BLM Thresholds, MCS, LHC Tune trim, SPS MKD control, SPS Septa control, LHC Collimators, Statistics, RF) • Improvement of existing system and/or creation of a new system based on the same philosophy could be a good project for a technical student
