SNHS providescomprehensivehealthservices to members of the WNY Native American Community and Enrolled Seneca members • SNHS operates 2 Tribal healthcare facilities in Salamanca, & Irving, NY • Medical, Dental, Optical, Pharmacy, X-Ray, and Environmental • SNHS provides a full range of primary and preventive care for acute and chronic illness and injuries. Reduce Routine and Urgent Wait Times Objective: reduce routine wait from 11 weeks to 5 weeks Objective: reduce urgent care wait from 4 weeks to 2 weeks
Increase routine and preventive care Objective: Increase restorative care by 25% Spring ’16 cohort placed 115% more anterior resins (28) and 37% more posterior resins (77) compared to spring ’15 Cohort Summer ’16 cohort placed 288% more anterior resins (105) and 206% more posterior resins (153) compared to summer ’15 cohort
Increase routine and preventive care Objective: Increase preventive care by 25% Spring ’16 cohort placed 67% less sealants (4) and 100% more interim therapeutic restorations (2) compared to spring ’15 cohort Summer ’16 cohort placed 483% more sealants (35) and 25% more interim therapeutic restorations (5) compared to summer ’15 cohort
2018 Program Expectations • Arrive 15-30 minutes early to review treatment plans, histories, etc. • Abide by the Volunteer Intern Agreement of the Seneca Nation of Indians. • Adhere to the Polices and Procedures of the Seneca Nation Health System. • Room patients and maintain designated treatment room for the shift. • Follow acceptable Infection Control safeguards and standards. • Obtain vitals necessitated by procedure in accordance with SNHS policy. • Check in with and brief the attending clinician prior to initiation. • Check in with attending clinician as necessitated by procedure complexity. • Check out with attending clinician / complete UBSDM grading sheets
2019 Program Expectations • Complete treatment note for review note procedures on EDR chart. • Treat all patients in a : Professional… Courteous… Compassionate manner. • Refrain from cell phones or mobile devices in treatment areas. • Utilize the designated intern workstation and daily end-of-day checklist. • One-hour Cultural Awareness presentation TBD at UBSDM. • Arrange a substitute participant if cannot attend a scheduled shift.
