  3. The egg is the first stage of a butterfly’s life. The eggs are laid in a safe location or near the plants that the caterpillar will eat. The First Stage of a Butterfly's Life

  4. The second stage is the larva or caterpillar. Larvae are small worms that are born from eggs. The Second Stage of a Butterfly’s Life
