Create a timeline of keylaws that led to an increase in civil rights. • You must include: • Browder Vs Gayle • 1964 Civil Rights Act • 1965 Voting Rights Act • And at least 2 more… 1954 - Brown Vs Board This ruling overturned the Plessy vs. Ferguson decision which allowed a “separate but equal” lifestyle. It declared “separate educational facilities are inherently unequal. This helped civil rights because it led to the supreme court asking all public schools to desegregate. This ruling was won by Thurgood Marshall from the NAACP. 1968 – Civil Rights Act
