  2. Who is Michael Schumacher? Michael Schumacher is a race car driver who drives for Mercedes GP (Grand Prix) on the F1 (Formula 1) racing circuit. Although people in North America don’t know very much about F1 racing, it is a very popular sport in Europe and Asia. Michael Schumacher is described by the official Formula 1 website as being “statistically the greatest driver the sport has ever seen”. Michael Schumacher has won 7 world championships and currently holds the most F1 records out of all of the drivers in the history of the sport. He retired at the end of 2006 and is now coming back to the sport.
