Port Arthur S a b I n e L a k e Port Arthur Turning Basins 8 9 Junction Area GIWW To Sabine Pass FY12 - Pt. Arthur Canal, Turning Basin, Junction Area & Taylors Bayou • Contractor: Manson Construction • Estimated Completion: Aug 2013 • Contract EffortsSchedule 1 (SNC, PAC Junction) – Culvert work DONE; SNC DONE, PAC almost complete. Will start Junction Area Option 1 (Sabine River – Critical shoals) - DONEOption 2 (SNC TB) - DONEOption 3 (Port of Port Arthur Docks) - DONEOption 4 (Taylors Bayou TB) – after Junction AreaOption 5 (Taylors Bayou East TB) - after Junction AreaOption 6 (Taylors Connecting Ch) - after Junction AreaOption 7 (Taylors Entrance Channel and West TB) - after Junction Option 8 (Sunken vessel removals – Sabine River) – Removed wooden vessel; Will not pursue removal of steel vessel. Option 9 (P.A. No. 11 Erosion Protection) – DONE
UPCOMING PROJECTS
FY13 – Neches River Channel Job will also include Port of PA dock dredging
Sabine 4 Gulf of Mexico 3 Gulf of Mexico 2 1 DELAYED to FY14 Outer Bar and Bank Channel * Environmental window is recommendation. Timing of jobs are also based on hopper availability.
Sabine-Neches Jetty Radar Reflectors • Project team efforts initiated • Contract award delayed to FY14 due to funding limitations • Anticipate construction of 6 – 8 breakaway radar reflectors on west jetty • Contract will be combined with riprap repair at the old USACE Port Arthur Office
Real Estate • The District is developing an outgrant policy to address the method of funding and processing external requests for the use of Government owned and/or controlled property (land and water) within the District’s Area of Responsibility. • Government policy requires the party who actually benefits from this type of transaction pay for the associated costs. Project funds can not be used. • Currently, there is a moratorium in effect through at least May 31, 2013. • Information on the status of the policy can be located at http://www.swg.usace.army.mil/BusinessWithUs/RealEstateDivision/Outgrants.aspx
