  1. ANABOLIC STEROIDS INCREASE RISK OF EARLY DEATH AS WELL AS GYNAECOMASTIA A new study has revealed that men who use anabolic steroid could be at risk of premature death. Published within the Journal of Internal Medicine, the study also shows that the use of these steroids, including testosterone, also results in more hospital admissions. At the very least, they can contribute to health conditions such as gynaecomastia. Here, we’ll look at what the study found and how steroid use can increase your risk of developing gynaecomastia. UNDERSTANDING THE STUDY The study matched 545 men who took androgenic anabolic steroids to 5,450 controls. They were followed for 7.4 years, with seven deaths recorded in the group taking the steroids. The controls not taking steroids saw 23 deaths, which equals approximately 0.4%. This shows that those taking steroids were three times more likely to die early than those who don’t. The study also showed that conditions such as erectile dysfunction, acne and gynecomastia, also affected over 10% of the men who took

  2. steroids. This was a significant increase compared to the men who didn’t take steroids. This proves that anabolic steroid use does increase the risk of early death, as well as cause a range of nasty side effects. STEROID USE AND GYNAECOMASTIA Previous studies have also identified a link between steroid use and gynecomastia. The trouble comes as the body converts the steroids into estrogen, the female hormone. The increased estrogen levels cause the breasts to develop, just like they do in females. Even steroids which advertise as having estrogen-blockers are often ineffective. So, it is well known that steroids anabolic steroids can lead to gynecomastia. If this does occur, surgery may be required to correct the problem. Steroid use will also need to be stopped otherwise the breasts will simply grow back once they’ve been reduced. Overall, many men don’t understand the risks associated with taking anabolic steroids. It’s important to understand that not only can these steroids cause unpleasant side effects such as enlarged breasts, but as the study proves, they can also lead to premature death. Content Source
