History • The first Chamber of Commerce was most likely started during the late Middle Ages. • It was founded in 1599 in Continental Europe • The world’s oldest English-speaking Chamber of Commerce is that of New-York city which was established in 1768 • The oldest known Chamber of Commerce existing with continuous records is the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce which was founded in 1783 • In India, Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry is said to be the oldest; 156 year old institution.

MCCIA’s Lean Manufacturing Cluster • MCCIA has formed two Lean Manufacturing Cluster under the National Manufacturing Competitiveness Program of Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India. The first cluster, consisting of 10 small scale auto component manufacturing units from PCMC area, started its operations in April 2010.
