  2. How long is their life span? Their life span is 5-11years What do they eat? They eat Scarabs, Huhu beetles, Moths, Wetas, Caterpillars, Spiders and sometimes frogs, geckos, mice and small birds What is their habitat like? Their habitat is in a tree hole and an exotic forest

  3. How long to the eggs hatch? 20-30. How many eggs do hey have? 3 white eggs during October-November. What do moreporks do during breeding season? The females stay and protect the eggs while the males go hunting for food.

  4. Who are there predators? possums, rats and humans. How long is there life span? 5-11years. How many are there left in New Zealand? There is more moreporks than there is kiwi.

  5. Maori Legend Some Maori tribes believe that if you see a Morepork (Ruru) at night it means that a loved one has passed away and the sprit is in the Morepork (Ruru) to say goodbye. Are they nocturnal? Yes, because they come out at night. How big are they? They are 29cm big.
