MRHS GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS • English - 4 Years • United States History - 2 Years • World Cultures - 1 Year • Financial Literacy - 1 Semester • Mathematics (Algebra 1/Geometry/Algebra 2) - 3 Years • Science - 3 Years (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Geo-Physical Science + Semester Science Course) • Visual & Performing Arts - 1 Year • 21st Century Life & Careers - 1 Year • World Language - 2 Years • Physical Education/Health - 1 Year for each year of attendance ** Students must earn 130 credits (and attempt a minimum of 140 credits) to graduate **

  9. Freshman Academy Weekly Team Meetings • Discuss student progress • Meet with student & teachers • Invite parent/guardian(s) to join us; team approach • Open communication; email, phone conference, appointment

  10. After-School Tutorial • October June • Free tutoring after-school • Monitored by our high school teachers • Peer tutoring with honor society students • ALL Students can take the late bus home • Schedule updated monthly & available in Room 600 or SPS office

Academic Intervention Plan (AIP) • Lunch program; 1st 23 minutes of lunch • Contract for students that fail 2 or more classes @ end of each marking pd • Opportunity to complete hw, study, etc. • students can earn their way out for next marking pd • Students return to cafetera for 2nd half of lunch period

  12. GOOGLE CLASSROOM • Join your child’s google classroom account(s) using your email address • Add yourself to each course your child is enrolled in • Email the individual teacher if you experience difficulty joining

  13. Career Empowerment • all 9th grade non-academy students • Fulfills Financial Literacy graduation requirement • Financial literacy curriculum • Naviance Family Connection • Personality + Career Assessments • Resume Building • College searching • Organizational Skills

Student Assistance Program • Helping students & families who are experiencing problems that interfere with learning such as social & emotional issues, substance abuse, family conflicts, peer relationship issues, stress & anxiety, grief & loss, academic pressures, and other mental health issues. • Developing, coordinating, and implementing prevention & intervention services to help our students and parents. • Individual and psychoeducational groups may be offered on: Personal Growth/Life Skills, Changing Families/Divorce, COSA – Children of Substance Abusers, Bereavement, Stress/Anxiety Management, Bilingual Support Group, Girls Empowerment, OrganizationalSkills and more.
