ebackpack • All documents are available in ebackpack. • Students will be able to turn in work to ebackpack for grading and feedback. • https://eanes.ebackpack.com
Homework • Students receive a learning target chart for all 6 units of study. Test questions come from these unit maps. • Students are responsible for reading assigned pages and taking notes using the SCRIPTED chart. Students keep a notebook to organize notes. • Reading quizzes are open note. • Textbook: World Civilizations, Advanced Placement Edition by Stearns, Adas, Schwartz, and Gilbert. • Reading assignments are on the calendar.
Rigor • We cover 10,000 years of global history. • First semester: Prehistory – Gunpowder Empires and Colonization of the Americas. • Second Semester: African Slave Trade – to the present. • Curriculum finish date: April 19th • Review for AP: April 19th -May 15th.

Grading • Daily grades – 30% • Reading quizzes • Daily class work • Test grades – 70% • Multiple Choice • Short Essay answer • Projects
AP Exam • May 16th, 8am. • Registration is usually the first week of March. • Cost ~ $85 • College credit depends on the university your child attends. • Advantages: Academic skills that come with a rigorous college-level course. Confidence that comes with succeeding in an AP course. • I recommend purchasing AP World History Crash Course by Jay Harmon.
End of Course Exam • The World History AP course is aligned to the Texas TEKS. • End of course exam is scheduled for the last week in April.
