  2. Man is a Complex Being Man is: Man Possesses: Body Intelligence Feelings Will Conscience • A Body – flesh, blood, nerves, bone • An Intellect – a mind • An emotional being • A volitional being • A conscientious being

  3. Man is a Complex Being Man is: Man Possesses: Body • A Body – flesh, blood, nerves, bone Eats, sleeps, walks, talks, exercises the five senses, performs many varied physical acts

  4. Man is a Complex Being Man is: Man Possesses: Intelligence • An Intellect – a mind Considers, thinks, reasons, forms conclusions, accepts, believes, rejects, disbelieves, etc.

  5. Man is a Complex Being Man is: Man Possesses: Feelings • An emotional being Love, hate, rejoice, grieve, etc.

  6. Man is a Complex Being Man is: Man Possesses: Will • A volitional being Chooses, decides, formulates a will

  7. Man is a Complex Being Man is: Man Possesses: Conscience • A conscientious being Approves when we do what we believe is right, condemns when we do what we believe is wrong. Can be educated to recognize good & evil, but its action is involuntary. It does not identify good & evil- but automatically approves or condemns.

  8. Man is a Complex Being We are all sick No perfect bodies No perfectly normal minds All have emotional problems No perfect Wills Some seared, some poorly trained • A Body • Mind • Emotions • Volition • Conscience

  9. “Do you want to be made well?” • Let Jesus Dwell in Your Entire Being • Your Body Was Created to Glorify God – 1 Corinthians 6:19,20 • Put Jesus in Control of Your Mind – 2 Corinthians 10:4,5; Philippians 4:8 • Put Out Emotions Under His Control- Romans 12:9; Philippians 3:1; 1 Thessalonians 5:16; Colossians 3:2

  10. “Do you want to be made well?” • Put Your Will Under His Rule- John 7:17; Matthew 5:6 • Our Conscience Must Be Brought Under His Control – 1 Timothy 1:5; 1 Peter 3:16 • It is for this very purpose Jesus came: That Men Be Made Well – John 10:10

  11. “Do you want to be made well?” • He has Given Us The Scriptures – 2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Corinthians 3:18; 2 Peter 1:3-5 • We will be Made Well When Jesus Comes Again – 1 Corinthians 15:51-54 “we shall all be changed” “the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised incorruptible” “Death is swallowed up in victory”

  12. How do you stand now? Are you satisfied? Have you come to Christ through obedience to His gospel? If you are a Christian, are you well? If you are sick, why not come to the Great Physician and be cured?
