Random acne breakouts give more stress to any individual, no matter the age. You can just blame your hormones and live with it or decide to find the cause that could have triggered acne breakout. Firstly, do away with the myth that acne just happens in adolescence. Today, adult acne is very common and according to dermatology doctors, we ourselves are the reasons for it. Although it is hard to zero down on the exact cause of a pimple, some foods if eaten on a regular basis could trigger acne.

  2. 1. BREAD It is believed that wheat can cause inflammation that can lead to a breakout. In addition, since breads, cakes, muffins, usually carry sugar, milk and oil, the vulnerability to breakout is more in people with a sensitive skin

  3. 2. COFFEE Can’t get out of your bed without a cup of coffee? Read this, coffee addiction is a potential acne trigger as it raises the cortisol levels in the body.  Cortisol is a stress hormone. Try and switch coffee with green tea for best results.

  4. 3. SUGAR Eating sugar is prohibited for a reason and we all know too much of sweet will ultimately show on your face. Nobody can give up on sugar, but you can moderate your intake and switch to natural forms found in fruits.

  5. 4. PEANUTS Don’t be shocked, but yes peanuts contain an androgen that raises the sebum production. It means your skin will be more oily and hence, more prone to acne

  6. 5. DAIRY According to the American Academy of Dermatology, there is a probability of a link between milk consumption acne breakout. Dairy products are carriers of pimple producing hormones, hence beware!
