He was killed in action in Moscow Russia by the Russian mafia. He had found out information about the mafia members identity to give British government. When he passed his responsibility is then passed onto his eldest daughter Sarah, she now bears the challenge of finishing their mission and getting justice for her fathers death. • First 2 minutes of the plot summary. Setting - • The lighting of the set – natural day time lighting, typical winter weather • The location e.g. studio, building, room, props, furniture – in a forest/woodland near school • How practical is this? Where can you get these props / set pieces? - quite practical as we could film near school as its in a rural location and the use of props it minimalistic or we could create a graveyard in one of the rural locations around school or at one of the boarding houses in the garden.
Characters • Appearance: What will they be wearing? Clothes, jewellery, make up, hair etc. • – The bereaved daughter would wear a casual like jeans and a jumper (everyday outfit) maybe she would wear a warm coat to show she's outside. Her hair is tied up out of her face so we can see her expressions clearly. • Spy – they would wear all black (minimalistic clothing), nothing that stands out as there trying to come across as business people not spies • Actions / Behaviour: What will they be doing in the scenes? • Spy would act serious as their on the job • Daughter grieving and emotional but alert, aware and knows her dads occupation. • Dialogue: Will they say anything? What? To who? Why? • Spy says ‘all eyes on target’ into head set, to alert the other spies on the mission. • Daughter – more relies on facial expressions
Technical ideas Camera – specific shot types, movements, angles etc. - establishing shot, medium shot, point of view shot, close up Editing – pace, visual effects, transitions, etc – transitions with leaves and wind effect, gun lense effect, slow motion, black out Sound – music, foley sound, etc – wind, leaves crushing, footsteps, gun shot Titles / Credits – how will they appear? When? What will they look like? – smooth and slick action black and white not childish
Appeal to audience • Why will they want to carry on watching your film? – The audience want to know what happens? Do they finish the mission? What happens after the gun shot? • The opening will be engaging and make the audience think as it leaves many questions unanswered which makes the audience want to continue watching as they want answers to their questions. They have been briefly introduced to one character in the opening and the audience want to find out more about her and her background. I only showing the audience some of the narrative at least some of the sense of mystery is to where the narrative will go next. Action films often leave major clues saved until near the end of the film to create a thrilling conclusion. • However in my opening an indication in the opening of spies watching her is an action code which gives a clue to the audience about what may happen later on in the film.
