Pitch • The film is based on a young boy called Lewis aged 16. He lives in Hackney, London. He has a mother drug addiction and his dad has turned to alcoholic. Lewis is there only child and the man of the house. He has no other to help his household by selling drugs and robbing people on the streets. Lewis gets himself in to all types of problems due to his lifestyle, to the point where he robbed the wrong person for drugs, that gained info on where he lived from a person he believed to be his friend. He kidnapped his dad and gave him 24 hours to pay before he killed him. He tried to do loads of different robberies in the end the guy kills his dad and he changes his life around in a positive direction.
Actors wanted • Danny Dyer He’s a very experienced actor. We researched on his career and he is fit for the role we have for him. We want him to be one of the drug dealers Lewis robs. • Ashley ‘Asher D’ Walters He has been in a wide range of films from the research we has come across and he previously was a rapper which will relate to our target audience of young people from an urban background • Joseph ‘Skepta’ Adenuga He is a fresh young face. Relevant our target audience being a relevant rapper that has over 250,000 followers on twitter and over 10 million views all together on YouTube we believe that he will create a buzz to the film that is needed to attract millions • AmlAmeen We are choosing AmlAmeen due to his success in Kidulthood. He got a good buzz and attention from the film and we personally believe he is a good actor. He would be idea for our Lewis character and we believe he can pull a good job. • Antonia Thomas She is a rising star and has a big fan base from a award winning television programme on channel four called misfits, because of this it has motivated us to use her because she has a fresh young face and will create the hype we will need for our movie
Audience • We are targeting young teenagers and we are doing this by getting rappers, beautiful young women and relevant actors in the movie, we also want our film to apply the masses out there that live a similar lifestyle. • We believe by them seeing this it will help them really think about the life there living. • We chose older more mature actor’s such as Danny Dyer to attract older audiences to show them that it is not always the young peoples fault why they sell drugs or rob people, they could have a bad up bringing and we want to show that using this film.
Genre • The genre for ‘Addiction’ is a drama, action and crime. Theres alot of drama with Lewis and his family life and issues. Action when he is active in the streets committing crimes.
Our Producer • David M. Thompson We believe that David would be a very good influence and would be able to contribute his skills and ideas to our film to make it a success like his previous film ‘Bullet Boy’, which is of the genre of our film. So we believe that David could relate to out film and with the help of our cast members and marketing campaign we can make it the biggest hit since bullet boy.
Marketing Campaign • Feature advertisements on popular sites for young people such as Spifftv.co.uk and Worldstarhiphip.com where are target audience views every day. • Buses, Underground, Billboards, TV and YouTube advertisements. Film trailers in cinemas and film festivals. This help get poster shown our film previewed and boost the popularity. • To be creative we will need our starring actors to tour visiting colleges, schools and youth club to speak to our target audience and promote our film. • We will also like to make a game apps for iPhone users for free download to play. Being Lewis and completing missions in his life in the game. • Another marketing strategy we would like to use is booking our actor on TV talk shows to talk about and promote the film. • We would also request Skepta to make use a soundtrack and also feature other artist on it for a collaboration. Acts such as Chipmunk, Tulisa & Dappy. Either one or two would link there fan bases together and get the song out there.
Budget • We would aim to budget our film from investors. We would project our film idea and business plan on how money will be spent. • We would like to pitch our movie idea in networking events, real estate seminars, the ITF and film festivals. • We will contact score.org and ask them to help us put our business plan together. • We will put our all in our pitches and try our hardest to get an investment to budget our movie.
Release • We will intend to release our film on a Friday for our teenager audience to view after the last day of school or college in the week . Older audience to view after the last day of work in the week. • We release at a time where there is not any similar genre or film coming out. • The best time for our film to be released is early August. • Teenagers will be leaving education for holidays and it be an exciting film to watch in the cinema with friends and family.
