TEAM • Team is a group of people working towards a common objective • Teamwork is the concept of people working together co-operatively • Teamwork is something like synergy where the whole is greater than the parts Teamwork is the concept of people working together co-operatively as in a sports team

  4. Characteristics of Effective Team • Clear purpose • Participation • Listening • Consensus decisions • Open communication • Clear roles and work assignment • Shared leadership • External relations • Self assessment

  5. Features of a Successful Team • The dedication of every member to quality • A common agreement on objectives • A Co-operative working relationship • A common acceptance of binding rules • An accepted team structure • Accepted distribution of roles and tasks within the team • A group identity

  6. Role of Team Members • Getting along with each other on a regular basis • Adapting to each other’s needs • Jointly achieving the set objectives • Adapting the team to the ideas and expectations within the projects environment • Solving conflicts between the team and finding lasting solutions

  7. Service Delivery • Goal • To provide safe Drinking Water through tube wells on a sustainable basis i.e. 24 X 7. • Service • Repair & Maintenance of hand pump tube wells • Service Team • Consist of normally SEM ---- >Mobile Unit- -- > Jr. Engineer –> BDO/ Asst. Engineer in the upward scale.

  8. Resources • Manpower • Tube well spares • Mobile Van • In exceptional cases drilling Rig

Responsibility of Team Members • SEMs should check tube well of his service area on a routine basis as a measure of preventive maintenance. • JE-II will take monthly review of SEMs regarding tube well condition, stock of spare parts. It will reduce the complaints. • JE-II has to inform to BDO about the current stock of spare parts on a regular basis so as to ensure the availability of the same in advance.

  10. Complaint redressal Process • On receipt of complaint JE-II (DO) will communicate to concerned SEM. • SEM will attend the complaint. • If it is beyond the scope of SEM, he will communicate it to JE-II immediately and ask for assistance. • JE-II will take necessary steps to resolve the problem. • If major repair required, then JE-II will seek assistance from BDO/AE to provide spare parts, manpower, mobile van etc.

  11. BDO/AE will ensure the assistance to JE-II to address the complaint.In case of major repair the mobile team will be deployed by the JE.JE-II is the key link in the entire process to make the tube well functional. In case of any tube well which is beyond repair, JE-II will report to the BDO/ AE, RWS&SAction is to be taken by EE, RWSS for replacement on receipt of verification report from AE, RWSS.

  12. If the members of the team sincerely perform their duties and responsibilities, then the Goal of effective Service Delivery can be achieved.
