What’s happening in Room 201? SPELLING TEST FOR ALL STUDENTS THIS WEEK IS A SIGHT WORD REVIEW. Test your child at home, circle the words they miss, and practice them for the test for Friday. The words will be in your child’s homework journal. January 22-25 For the next five weeks the homework will include 15 minutes of reading Monday-Thursday. That means one hour of reading each week for five weeks. On Friday, February 22, your child’s Six Flags reading log must be turned in. This is the perfect opportunity to help them grow as readers and receive a free Six Flags ticket. This is different than the guided reading. This week we will be working on long a, hard and soft g, past and present verbs, making an inference and drawing conclusions. January 22: Culver’s Spirit Night January 24: Fire Drill at 2:15 January 25: Report Cards go home February 1: McKamy Orchestra at 2:00 • This weeks Math focus: • - Describing attributes of objects • -Using attributes to sort a set of objects • -Making sense of data representations, including pictures, bar graphs, tallies, and Venn diagrams We are investigating rocks and landforms.
