1.What is Power Factor? • The Power factor of an AC electrical power system is defined as the ratio of the Real power(kw) flowing to the load, to the Apparent power (kva) • Power factor(cos ø)=Real Power/Apparent Power • =kw/kva
2.Need Of Power Factor Improvement • Whenever the power factor is low, automatically its demand(kva) and consumption of units(kvah) increases. • It leads to huge power bills/penalties i.e. higher than 20 - 40% of normal bill. So Improvement of P.F leads to Reduction in Electricity bill
3.How to Improve Power factor • Power Factor can be Improved by providing reactive power compensation towards load side using a Capacitor bank. • Capacitor value designed depending on Load of the system
4.What is the effect in case of Capacitor fails • Due to failure of Capacitor Demand & Consumption Of units will increases. • So Customer will be charged /penalized by high amount.
5.How to measure Capacitor value • Capacitor rating is in terms of KVAR approximate 1.3amp per kvar. • Its healthiness can be checked by value of current passing through it.
6.Working principal An Intelligent micro processor based circuit will sense the healthiness of the capacitor bank time to time, whenever the capacitor bank value is de-rated by 25% of its normal value or even failed in any one phase, the system will operate the buzzer or hooter.

9.Need of the Product? • As per the E.B billing system for all the industrial& commercial(above 10H.P load) consumers will be billed for KVAH as units. Example: An L.T consumer is consuming 1000 units per month at units p.f by installing fixed capacitor bank
Example: An L.T consumer is consuming 1000 units per month at units p.f by installing fixed capacitor bank Incase capacitor are de-rated or failed, then the same consumer will be billed for 1250 units@0.8p.f lag 1666 units@0.6p.f lag 2000 units@0.5p.f lag By installing our system the consumer will be alert by buzzer whenever the capacitor bank are de-rated or failed
10.How to install it? Where to Install it? • It can be Installed at main incoming of distribution system. • It can be in parallel connection with the load at main incoming of LT side.
