Misc. Points to Remember Grades are tied to a section, not the student • If a student moves from one section to another, the grades do NOT move with him/her Student Group affiliations do not show up on Portal
FAQ’s What happens to assignment grades when students are removed from a student group? Before they were lost if the student was changed during a term. The graded assignments will not be lost.
2. When the assignments are copied, it blanks out the due date, but does it blank out the assigned date as well? Yes, the assigned date is also blank when assignments are copied. This only happens when the term dates from the source section and destination section do not match.
3. Is the grade book last updated timestamp available in Ad Hoc as a reportable field? This data cannot be retrieved via ad hoc. It can; however, be pulled in the Grade Book Usage Report.
4. Will the Assignment Copier allow teachers to copy across schools and calendars only if the Teacher Assignments (Census) are present? Even if a teacher’s district assignment is end dated at a school, the copy assignments feature is still available for a teacher to copy assignments from that school. …as long as they are a teacher on the section of that course.
5. When will documentation in Campus Community for the new teacher tools be available? Documentation is currently available on the Campus Community. https://community.infinitecampus.com/kb/display/DOC/Assignments
6. What resource is available where I can train my Building and Teacher Coaches on the new teacher tools before the June 30 availability? Districts can currently request that these tools be placed on a preview environment. A support ticket needs to be created for this.
7. We do not want teachers creating or selecting their OWN grading scale, we want it to be set for all the courses…we use two Weighted scale and Un-weighted Scale…we do not want them to create their own, is this something that we can prevent or lock them out of doing? Within Instruction > Admin > Grading Scales, giving teachers read rights or no rights will prevent them from changing a district setting. Not having access still allows teachers the ability to select the grading scale from Edit Grade Calc Options.
8. Does “Drop the Lowest Score” still need to be checked before grades are entered because it will start after next grade is entered or can we check this at any time? You can now use the “Drop the Lowest Score” at any time.
9. This question is about the ability for teachers to copy groups and assignments from one year to the next. Our school does not roll sections forward. We have too many changes each year for that to be feasible. If we are only rolling forward our courses and not our sections, will teachers still have the ability to copy categories and assignments from the past school year to the current year? If you do not roll the sections forward, the teachers will not be able to copy the assignments into the future year. However, once your sections are created and the teachers are assigned to those sections, they can then copy assignments from the past school year to the current year.
