Program Overview • 18-credit online graduate certificate in school administration and supervision designed for technology leaders (5 core courses and 1 internship course) • One year for completion • Aligned with ISLLC, ELCC and NETS-A standards • A&S Certification (reciprocity with other states) • Prepared for the School Leaders Licensure Assessment - examination for an Administrator II credential • Leadership opportunities in ISTE and at ISTE Conferences. • Infusion of technology focus and ISTE resources
Course Format • 7-9 week online courses • Facilitated on a weekly cycle • Highly interactive • Balance of whole group, team, and individual activities and assignments each week • Requires a high level of comfort with technology • Uses JHU’s internally developed platform for course delivery - Electronic Learning Community (ELC) and Digital Portfolio • Integration of Web 2.0 tools
Internship • Activities structured across the entire program with benchmarks • Integrated with coursework • Emphasis on reflection • Digital Portfolio • Leadership Opportunities through ISTE • School based (job-embedded)
ISTE Partnership • Seal of Alignment • Attend f2f meetings at least one ISTE Conference (Kickoff or Culminating events) • Present a poster session at the ISTE Conference (Culminating only) • Get involved with ISTE through leadership opportunities that align with NETS-A and internship requirements • ISTE Speaker Series
Program Logistics • Timeline: • Application deadline – April 1, 2012 • Online Learning Orientation (2 weeks) begins in early June • Program Kickoff at ISTE 2012 in San Diego, CA • Culminating Events at ISTE 2013 in San Antonio, TX • Program Ends August 1, 2013
Program Logistics (cont.) • Cost and Requirements: • Tuition – Paid two courses at a time per semester (fall, spring, summer) • One-time application fee • Semester Registration fee (currently $150, subject to change) • ISTE Membership & conference registration • Travel to and from conference and associated costs • Application and Other requirements • Financial aid available
