  3. Reference Section • Do you have class reporters? Are students assigned current or past events of the day or month? • The reference section can be used for daily current event reports. • Quickly find information using the World Almanac for Kids or Encyclopedia when students have questions. • Create a Spotlight of the Month bulleting board in the classroom. Have students use the “Spotlight of the Month” to fill in information pertaining to the month.

  4. Recap Don’t forget about the wonderful features and resources found in the “Database Features” section. Students can easily find wonderful information and graphics from this section of GALILEO. Don’t forget about the “Educator Resources”.

  5. Teens using GALILEO On the right, students have sections that help them navigate GALILEO. Students could be assigned a short project on one of the “Getting Started” sections and present their findings to the class. By doing this students are learning to use these tools and teaching others how to use them.

  6. Georgia Eighth grade studies the history of Georgia. The “Georgia” section of GALILEO offers numerous databases specifically about Georgia.

RECAP Let’s explore GALILEO Teen Section • Students can explore a variety of academic topics using GALILEO. • Within each topic there are numerous data bases to choose from. • The Compton’s by Britannica encyclopedia allows students to - select unfamiliar words, - see the definition and - hear the pronunciation. - PLUS, the citation is already created for them to use on their reference page. • - ADDITIONALLY, there are “Teacher Resources”!
