Yaakov prepares for his own funeral • Yaakov instructed Yosef that he did not want to be buried in Egypt. • Wanted to be buried in Ma’arat Ha-machpela in Chevron. • He made Yosef promise him that he would not be buried in Egypt. • Yaakov knew that the Egyptians would turn him into a mummy, as was the Egyptian custom.
