  7. Setting up of ADR Centre in Mumbai We are trying to set up the ADR Centre of the Chamber on the 3rd floor of IMC, with a generous contribution from Mr. Suresh Kotak’s family. This will give IMC a great deal of visibility in the critical areas of arbitration, mediation and conciliation. Registration of IMC as an Institutional Arbitrator with the Bombay High Court.

This will ensure their accessibility to a larger audience, and could also help to spur a strategic debate in important policy areas which would enhance the IMC’s visibility amongst decision-makers.
  11. Publications We propose to bring out publications/policy documents/research papers in the following important areas: Law and legal affairs Insurance Public transportation Urban infrastructure Financing of Water Investments Financial Sector Reforms
  12. Publications (Continued) Study on IWT in Mumbai/Maharashtra Undertaking a detailed study on the topic “Inland Water Transportation (IWT) in Maharashtra with special reference to the Mumbai Metropolitan Area: Scenario, Perspective and Prospects”. This is in sync with the theme of the year since sustainable development – particularly of densely populated and sprawling coastal urban areas like Mumbai – will necessitate a much greater and cost-effective implementation of IWT than what is being attempted at present.
