    2. Health care in CZ is based on the following principles : 1. Solidarity 2. High propotion of local goverment authorities 3. Multi-source financing with a dominant share of public health insurance 4. Free choice of ones physician and medical facility 5. Free choice of insurance company within the framework of public health insurance 6. Equal access

    3. Health care Health care in the CZ is provided by health facilities. Health care facilities are classified according to: The owner, who may not only be the state, but also municipality or town, private owners, joint stock companies, charitable organizations The type of health care provided

    4. Facilities providing health care are divided into two major groups: 1. Public health authorities Health and hygiene regional authorities Health institutes 2. Preventive and curative care facilities Outpatient care facilities Hospital institutional care Specialized therapeutic institutions Pharmaceutical Care - Pharmacy, Laboratory for Drug Control Special facilities for children Research institutes Teaching Hospital

    5. Facilities providing health care in detail

    6. Health and hygiene regional authorities Regional - Executes the state administration and national / regoinal health supervision.

    7. Health institutes Providing services: Laboratory assays examinations Microbiological examinations Immunological examinations Parasitological examinations Allergological examinations

    8. Outpatient care facilities Surgeries of general practitioners and specialist outpatient services Emergency centres Occupational preventive care facilities Specific out-patient services are provided by

    9. Hospital institutional care Based on its scope and equipment they are providing outpatient and inpatient primary, specialized or highly specialized diagnostic and therapeutic care.

    10. Specialized therapeutic institutions They are providing inpatient care for patients with a protracted course of illness which requires special care with a rehabilitation specialist focus. These institutions (with the exception of long-term care facilities) are usually specialized based on the type of diseases treated (psychiatric institutes, rehabilitation). Spa Convalescent home

    11. Pharmaceutical Care - Pharmacy, Laboratory for Drug Control Issuing drugs and medical equipment

    12. Special facilities for children They include institutions for infants orphanage and children's homes

    13. Teaching Hospital

    15. First of all, the Ministry of Health manages and controls the execution of state administration in protection of public health and its responsible for designing and implementing national policy concerning protection of public health. It also manages and controls the regional health and hygiene authorities, decides on appeals against the latter, etc.

    16. Social Services

    17. Who provides social services? Municipalities and counties/regions shall ensure the creation of appropriate conditions for the development of social services, in particular identifying the real needs of people and resources to satisfy them and in addition establish themselves organizations providing social services.
