Introduction • Sepaktakraw is a sport played primarily in Southeast Asia especially in Malaysia and Thailand. It is similar to volleyball, only the player kick the ball instead of using hands.
Court and Positions • A match is played by two “Regus”, each consisting of three players. • One of the three players is near the back of the court and he/she is called a “Tekong” (Server). • The other two players are in front, closer to the net, one on the left side of the Tekong and the other on the right side. The player on the left is called a “Left Forward” and the player on the right is called a “Right Forward”.
Attire • Different colored jerseys, one light jersey and one dark jersey. • Jerseys have numbers on the back. • The captain wears an armband that is a different color than his or her jersey.
Game Play • Flip a coin. • Start the set. • Pass the ball to the other team using only your feet and head. • Set the next set after the designated amounts of points are scored. • The second regu is played the same. • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sgx4WtrlVeM
Equipment • The sepaktakraw ball shall be spherical in shape, made of synthetic fiber or one woven layer. • Circumference of the ball ranges from 42-44cm.
Etiquette • Wait for opponent to set up after a point is scored. • No trash talking. • No fighting.
