Construction traffic management • Construction Traffic Management Plan • Agreed with Lincolnshire County Highways • National Grid and County Highways will enforce compliance • Project-specific clear directional signage • All construction vehicles to use private track from A52 to Ing Drove • No construction traffic access via Bicker village • One-way traffic flow on Ing Drove, Cowbridge Road and Vicarage Drove, controlled by marshalls at Ing Drove and substation • 20MPH speed restriction for construction traffic past residential properties with speed indicator signs and random speed checks
Environmental • Dust, noise, pollution • Contractor’s Safety, Health and Environmental Construction Phase Plan & Project Environmental Management Plan include measures to avoid, minimise and address dust, noise and pollution in line with legislation.* • Site roads will be kept clean. Vehicles will be cleaned on site to ensure they leave in a clean condition. • Road sweepers to remove dirt & silt from road surface to reduce potential for dust on public road if required. • Noise monitoring will take place at site boundaries to ensure noise arising from the works complies with levels meeting environmental health requirements. • Construction vehicles will comply with relevant EURO standards & maintained to meet MOT standards. * The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and subordinate legislation including The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, The Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015 and The Environmental Protection Act 1990
Environmental • Dust, noise, pollution • All non-road mobile machinery to comply with EU Directive Staged Emission Standards. • Water bowsers spraying site/traffic routes to dampen down dust. • HGVs to be sheeted during off-site transportation of friable construction materials and spoil. • Vehicles travelling on public roads restricted to running on stone/tarmac only to prevent dirt/debris accumulating on wheels. • All materials with potential to give rise to dust must be stored covered and protected from wind. • No burning of waste on site. • Control measures to be included in Risk Assessment Method Statements for any activities likely to generate significant levels of dust.
Environmental • Dust, noise, pollution • Noise levels to be kept within limits set in the Construction Code of Practice • Portable generators to use industry best practice to minimise noise and pollution • Temporary screening or an enclosure to be provided if noisy machinery cannot be located away from sensitive receptors • Silenced equipment to be used as far as possible (in particular silenced power generators if night time power generation is required for drilling, site security, temporary traffic lights or lighting)
Environmental • Dust, noise, pollution • Ensuring vehicles and mobile plant are well maintained such that loose body fittings or exhausts do not rattle or vibrate • No music or radios to be played on site • No vehicles to park or wait outside residential properties with engines running unnecessarily • Ensuring, where practicable, that access routes are in good condition with no pot-holes or other significant surface irregularities • Where particularly intense or unusual periods of activity during construction may give rise to greater noise levels at nearby properties than typical of the majority of the construction phase, notice should be given to National Grid to allow them to advise residents no later than 24 hours in advance of the works commencing, and give an estimate of how long the elevated noise levels may continue
Road repairs and other arrangements • Repairs to public roads • Existing condition assessment of public roads completed. • Further survey at start of works. • Any damage to roads caused by our construction traffic will be discussed with Lincolnshire County Highways and repaired. • Other arrangements • If any interruption to public water supply occurs during our works, bottled water will be provided to residents irrespective of liability for the loss of supply. If loss of supply is as a consequence of our works, water bowser supplies will be provided to residents with horses. • Call-off arrangement with taxi company for Mrs Sexton.
