What is the Innovation Fund? • ULTSEC awards to teams and individuals • Up to £5000 funding for each of 10 projects • Institutional support for learning, teaching and student experience projects • Pump-priming the development of new or innovative approaches
Why might it be good for me? • Project 2012 has been a priority across NU and we’re already seeing the benefits of what we’ve achieved • Innovation Fund emphasises local priorities and how these link with institutional aims • Wouldn’t it be great if... • If I had the resource I’d... • I need time to think • I wonder what they’re doing over there...
Student involvement in projects • Project ideas put forward in partnership with mixed student/staff teams • Projects that engage students in doing the project, not just as recipients or beneficiaries
Who does this benefit? • The staff and students involved in the project • The Academic Units/Services involved in the project • Other Academic Units/Services at NU • Your subject area/discipline • Other subject areas/disciplines
2013 dates • Closing date for proposals: 22nd Jan 2013 • Deadline for feedback on proposals: 15th Jan 2013 • Projects approx. 1 academic year in length • Call for Proposals document is online: http://www.ncl.ac.uk/quilt/resources/excellence/innovationfund.htm • Contact is Lydia Wysocki in QuILT
