Principles Christ Centered Living
Have you met the truth? • Love does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth. (1 Corinthians 13:6) • You were running a good race. Who cut in on you and kept you from obeying the truth? (Galatians 5:7)
Have you been enlightened? • Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105) • “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl, instead they put it on its stand and it gives light to everyone in the house.” Matthew 5:14
What do you hunger and thirst for? • The Lord will continually guide you, and satisfy your desire. (Isaiah 58:11) • Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7) • Delight yourself in the Lord; and He will give you the desires of your heart (Psalm 37:4) Love is Here

Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you? You want something but don’t get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not as God.(James 4:1-2)
Proud or Pride • Each of you should look not only to your own interest, but also to the interests of others. (Philippians 2:4) • If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. (Mark 3:25) • Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? (Matthew 7:3) • A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. (Proverbs 15:1)
That's just Rude • If a man loudly blesses his neighbor early in the morning, it will be taken as a curse. (Proverbs 27:14) • Words from a wise man’s mouth are gracious, but a fool is consumed by his own lips. (Ecclesiastes 10:12)
Selfish? Who me? • Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; honor one another above yourselves. And God is faithful; He shall not let you be tempted by more than you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will provide a way out, so that you may stand up under it. Love always protects • LOVE always protects (1 Corinthians 13:7) • For whoever is not against us is for us. I tell you the truth, anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to Christ will certainly not lose his reward. (Mark 9:40-41)
Faith • God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life (John 3:16) • Our love for each other is supposed to be how people distinguish us as Christ’s disciples (John I 3:35) • Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. (Luke 6:27-28)
Hope. • For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. (Romans 15:4) • And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Sprit, whom he has given us. (Romans 5:5) • Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praise-worthy-think about such things. (Philippians 4:8)
Trust • It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. (1 Corinthians 13:7) • Guard my soul and deliver me; do not let me be ashamed, for I take refuge in You. (Psalm 25:20) • Encourage one another and build up one another…Encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with everyone (1 Thessalonians 5:11, 14)
Love never fails. • Love never fails (1 Corinthians 13:8) • God has given us eternal life; and this life is in His son. He who has His son has life. He who does not have the son of God, does not have life. (1 John 5:11,12)
Understanding • How blessed is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gains understanding (Proverbs 3:13) • Good understanding produces favor (Proverbs 13:15) • The ear of the wise seeks knowledge (Proverbs 18:15) • Wise men store up knowledge, but with the mouth of the foolish, ruins is at hand (Proverbs 10:14) • By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; and by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches (Proverbs 24:3-4)
Love the Lord you God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength… Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these. (Mark 12:30-31)
