TundraGeography and Climate • Climate: 6 – 9 months winter and 6 – 10 weeks of summer. • Location: upper north America and north Eurasia. • Description: A very cold, dry, tree less region. • Soil type: permafrost and little nutrients. • Precipitation: less than 25 centimeters per year. • Temperature Range: -12 degrees on average.

  3. TundraBiodiversity • Plant Species: Lichens, mosses, grasses, and small shrubs. • Animal Species: Ducks, geese, shorebirds, songbirds, caribou, mice, reindeer, arctic hares, voles, lemmings, musk oxen, hawks, snowy owls, willow grouse, mosquitoes, and black flies.
