  8. Testing Environment • Ensure that no instructional materials directly related to the content of the tests are visible: • Remove or cover materials that might assist students in answering questions • Examples: charts, bulletin board materials, mathematical formulas Before Field Test Day

  23. Starting a Test Session • On the TA interface, click the [Select All] button. • Note: Students are pre-assigned assessments. The pre-assigned assessments are the only assessments available to each student when they log into the student interface. • Then, click on the • [Start Session] button. On Field Test Day

Checking Student Login • Use the lookup feature if a student is having trouble logging in. • Note: If the student’s name or grade level is not accurate, it will need to be corrected in CALPADS before the student may test. The updated information will be available in TIDE within 48 hours. On Field Test Day

  30. Approving Students • TAs must approve students before they can begin testing. On Field Test Day

  31. Approving Students • This screen displays each student who is awaiting approval for testing. • Review each student’s setting. • If a student’s settings are incorrect, he or she should not test until the information is corrected in TIDE. On Field Test Day

  32. Approving Students • Click the Refresh button to update the list of students awaiting approval. • Use this screen to approve individual students, or approve all waiting students. On Field Test Day

  33. Student View: Waiting for Approval On Field Test Day • The student will see the display above while waiting for the TA to approve the request for entry into the session.

  35. Student View: Sound Check – Text-to-Speech On Field Test Day • Students need to click the green icon and verify they can hear the audio before continuing the login process. • Students use the sliders to adjust the audio settings.

  36. Student View: Sound Check – Listening Items On Field Test Day • Students click the speaker icon and verify they can hear the audio before continuing the login process. • Note: Once the student starts the test, the audio setting cannot be changed on tablets and Chromebooks.

  43. Pausing the Test On Field Test Day • Either the TA or the student can pause the test. • Note: Pausing requires that the student go through the login process again.
