Test Security • Review all security procedures and guidelines from the California Online Field Test Administration Manual • Read the CAASPP Test Security Affidavit carefully and sign it. Before Field Test Day
Testing Devices • Close all applications other than secure browser • Limit devices to one monitor • Set system volume prior to the launch of the secure browser On Field Test Day
Physical Conditions • Verify that materials that might assist students in answering questions are covered or removed • Ensure that students are seated with adequate space between • Distribute non-embedded supports On Field Test Day

Starting a Test Session • On the TA interface, click the [Select All] button. • Note: Students are pre-assigned assessments. The pre-assigned assessments are the only assessments available to each student when they log into the student interface. • Then, click on the • [Start Session] button. On Field Test Day
Starting a Test Session • The Stop Session button will appear. • Provide the Session ID to your students EXACTLY as it appears, including the hyphens. On Field Test Day Session ID: GREEN-F3C0-1
Students launch the secure browser. Student Login On Field Test Day
Students must enter the Session ID exactly as it appears on the TA’s screen, including hyphens. The Session ID is NOT case sensitive. Student Login • Students must enter their legal first name. Checking Student Login • Use the lookup feature if a student is having trouble logging in. • Note: If the student’s name or grade level is not accurate, it will need to be corrected in CALPADS before the student may test. The updated information will be available in TIDE within 48 hours. On Field Test Day
Approving Students • TAs must approve students before they can begin testing. On Field Test Day
Approving Students • This screen displays each student who is awaiting approval for testing. • Review each student’s setting. • If a student’s settings are incorrect, he or she should not test until the information is corrected in TIDE. On Field Test Day
Approving Students • Click the Refresh button to update the list of students awaiting approval. • Use this screen to approve individual students, or approve all waiting students. On Field Test Day
Student View: Waiting for Approval On Field Test Day • The student will see the display above while waiting for the TA to approve the request for entry into the session.
Student View: Is This Your Test? On Field Test Day • Students need to verify the test and the test settings before the start of testing.
Student View: Sound Check – Text-to-Speech On Field Test Day • Students need to click the green icon and verify they can hear the audio before continuing the login process. • Students use the sliders to adjust the audio settings.
Student View: Sound Check – Listening Items On Field Test Day • Students click the speaker icon and verify they can hear the audio before continuing the login process. • Note: Once the student starts the test, the audio setting cannot be changed on tablets and Chromebooks.
Student View: Test Instructions and Help On Field Test Day • This screen provides a reminder of the test tools available to the student.
Monitoring Progress • Circulate through the room • Maintain test security • Look for test security incidents • Cell Phones • Talking • Notify the site coordinator of any test security incidents On Field Test Day

Test Item Tutorials On Field Test Day • TAs can remind students to click on the tutorial button.

Pausing the Test On Field Test Day • Either the TA or the student can pause the test. • Note: Pausing requires that the student go through the login process again.
Test Segments On Field Test Day • Students should review answers before moving to the next segment.
Student View: End of Test On Field Test Day • Students click the red [End Test] button. • They may go back and review answers within that segment, or submit the test.
Quiet Activity for Students • Ensure students who finish early are using approved activity • Work on assignments for unrelated subjects • Read a book • No electronics On Field Test Day
Final Steps • Log out of the Test Administrator interface • Destroy test materials • Report any testing improprieties, irregularities, and breaches Final Steps
