  1. 5-1-2014 CALENDAR Friday, 5-16 NO SCHOOL– Data Review Day Monday, 5-26 NO SCHOOL—Memorial Day Tuesday, 5-27 Field Trip to Des Moines Beach Park Reading Thank you for practicing your CVC words at home. Even if you run out of CVC words on the blending practice pages you can always write your own. Reading any three letter word with a vowel in the middle is great practice for your kindergartener! Also, please continue to practice sight words. When your child knows all of their sight words they will really begin to take off as readers. Birthdays Darwin 5-10 Anthony 5-20 Enrique 5-22 Math We are currently working on composing and decomposing numbers through 10. Your child will begin to see that when you put together two numbers you get a greater number. Also, I am noticing many students still writing their numbers backwards. If you see this from your child, please practice number writing with them.  REMINDERs Please return field trip forms as soon as possible. Remember that our uniform policy requires shirts with a collar or a Hilltop T-shirt.
