LINKING VERB VIDEO LINKING VERBS Linking Verbs link two words together. Example: The flower is pretty. flower = pretty Common Linking Verbs Is, be, am, are, was, were, been, being, become
Linking Verbs do not express action. They connect the subject of the verb to additional information about the subject. Example: Thor is a superhero. Ising isn’t something that Thor can do. Is connects the subject, Thor, to additional information about him.
LINKING VERBS Example: During the afternoon, my cats are content to nap on the couch. Areing isn’t something that cats can do. Are is connecting the subject, cats, to something said about them. They enjoy sleeping on the furniture.
