  3. Reality of Journal Purchasing Decreasing titles: 40,000 to 20,000 Expenditure: EUR 200 million

In 2000… JAPUL requested an examination for Pricing Policy of Elsevier Science to the Japan Fair Trade Com- mission , with 2 subject oriented library associations: JMLA, JPLA Directors of 7 national university libraries sent a petition to Elsevier Science against Yen price and limitation of parallel import. In the reply, Elsevier Science wished to have some talks. And Electronic Journal Task Force was established in ANUL.

  5. ANUL Consortial Deals : Elsevier Science 1st stage (1999 – 2001) SD-21 2nd stage (2002 – 2004) ScienceDirect in 2003 80 of 91 members join this deal. Freedom collection : 28 Complete collection with Cross Access: 39 Complete collection : 4 Limited collection : 9 Life Science collection : 29 Print + Electronic payment for Elsevier Science = EUR 21 million
