Director’s Report to BRDI Recent and ongoing Board projects: • Consensus study on Future Career Opportunities and Educational Requirements for Digital Curation, 4th meeting January 2013 • Developing Data Attribution and Citation Practices and Standards, with CODATA-ICSTI Task Group (first Symposium and Workshop, August 2011), with two meetings in 2012 and 2nd report in April 2013. • Workshop on Data Intensive Science in Shanghai • International CODATA Conference and General Assembly in Taipei • Pending activities include: Planning Meeting on Public Access to Federally Funded R&D Data and Publications; Strategy for Sharing of Earth Observations Data Between China and the United States; and a project on Legal Interoperability of Research Data • Two projects approved by NRC this month: Building a Biomedical Knowledge Network (with Board on Life Sciences), and the BRDI Competition and Lee Dirks Prize for Research Data and Information. • Other projects being discussed tomorrow.
