Groovin’ By The Young Rascals Groovin' on a Sunday afternoon, really couldn't get away too soon,I can't imagine anything that's better, the world is ours whenever we're together.There ain't a place I'd like to be instead of groovin' down a crowded avenue,Doin' anything we'd like to do. There's always lots of things that we could see,We could be anyone we'd like to be, and all those happy people we could meet justGroovin' on a Sunday afternoon, really couldn't get away too soon, no, no, no, no.We'll keep on spending sunny days this way, we're gonna talk and laugh our time away.I feel it comin' closer day by day. Top Ten Songs The song Groovin was written by the young Rascals in 1967. The song is about hippies. Hippies in the 1967’s went with the flow. In the song it says “ We could be anyone we’d like to be" and the song also said “ Doin’ anything we’d like to do.” So they were saying they didn’t care what people thought, what people saw them as, or peoples opinions on them. Rosemary’s baby The book centers on Rosemary Woodhouse, a young woman who has just moved into the Bramford, an old Gothic Revival style New York City apartment building with her husband, Guy, a struggling actor. The pair are warned that the Bramford has a disturbing history involving witchcraft and murder, but they choose to overlook this. Rosemary has wanted children for some time, but Guy wants to wait until he is more established. Rosemary and Guy are quickly welcomed by Minnie and Roman Castevet, an eccentric elderly couple. Rosemary finds them meddlesome and absurd, but Guy begins paying them frequent visits. Ira Levin was a successful novelist and playwright, Ira Levin was born in New York City on August 27, 1929. Initially a television writer, he became a best-selling author with his first novel, 1953's A Kiss Before Dying. More thrilling works followed, including 1968's Rosemary's Baby and 1976's The Boys from Brazil, which were later turned into feature films.

  5. Sport Star! • The very first super bowl was in held this year, 1967. The Green Bay Packers played against Kansas City. Bart Starr is the quarterback for the Packers, who beat Kansas thirty five to ten. Bart Starr was rated the top quarterback and also won most valuable player for this year. He is known for throwing one hundred and fifty six passes out of two hundred and fifty one. He is also known for only throwing three interceptions all year! Bart Starr was born on January ninth 1934. In his early life he lost his father and brother. This emotional time in his life made him try out for the high school football team because his dad loved football. Bart went to college at Alabama. In the seventh teen round of drafting the Green Bay Packers picked him as his one hundredth and nintyninth pick. Bart Starr said “Athletic competition clearly defines the unique power of our attitude. “ He also said “Anyone can support a team that is winning - it takes no courage. But to stand behind a team to defend a team when it is down and really needs you, that takes a lot of courage. “

  6. Warren Beatty Warren Beatty was nominated this year, 1967, for an Academy Award for the movie Bonnie and Clyde. He was nominated for best actor and won that honor. At the Academy Awards he said, “I`m old, I`m young, I`m intelligent, I`m stupid. My tide goes in and out.” Warren was born in Virginia in 1930. He grew up with out a father but had a mother and a sister. His mother was a drama teacher and she got him interested in acting. His very first roll was in the TV. show “ The many loves of Dobbie Gills” After that series he went on to Broadway. Beatty did many films like “ Mickey one”, “ Promise her anything” and much more. His most popular film was the movie Bonnie and Clyde were he played the main actor.

  8. Hippies Hippies are people that believe in peace when there are differences. They wanted to solve differences with love. They go with the flow. Hippies this year don’t like when people judge them by there appearances. You can tell when a person is a hippie by there extremely long hair, different clothes, and there odd smell. Most hippies love drugs. They like weed and pot. They protest all the time about the war we are in with Vietnam, saving the trees, helping the environment and world peace. Everyone says “ once a hippie , always a hippie.”

  9. Hot Rides! Cars are a big deal! People judge you by what car you drive. Gas is thirty three cents. Usually a new car cost around two thousand seven hundred and fifty dollars. A used car cost

  10. Andy Griffith show! The Andy Griffith show main characters are Bareny Fife, Opie Taylor, Aunt Bee, Sheriff Andy Taylor, and Gomer Pyle. It’s genre is a comedy. The storyline is about Sheriff Andy Taylor and his life in Mayberry, North Carolina. Bareny Fife deputy of Andy is one of his closest friends. While Andy is trying to keep the town safe he also has a family at home. Andy and his son , Opie live with their Aunt Bee. While Andy is at work Aunt Bee takes care of Opie. There is always some adventure when you put Aunt Bee, Opie, Barney, and Andy all together. I love this show! I think it is hilarious and very entertaining.

  12. Lyndon B. Johnson • Lyndon is the 36th president of the United States. He was born in central Texas in 1908. He had three sisters. He graduated college in 1930. He was a congressman for many years then he ran for senate. Then he decided to run for vice president and John F. Kennedy ran for president. He became president after Kennedys assassination. His plan for being president was to aid education, fix Medicare, obstacles of the right to vote and much more. We are in war with Vietnam at the time. The economy was good all throughout the 60’s including this year, 1967. Many people don’t like the president because he got us involved in war with Vietnam. This year we are going through racisms and civil liberties issues.

  15. Teen life Being a teenager this year, 1967 is great. We all hang out at the skating rink, bowling alley, or got to a drive in. Our parents don’t care if we stay out after dark. Almost everyone has a lava lamp in there room. Smoking cigarettes or doing tobacco isn't bad for you so, a lot of people do it. Girls wear mini skirts but the paper dresses are getting more popular. Guys wear bright colors. Every where you turn there is a hippy protesting about something. Racial issues are a big deal. Rock music is super popular. We all love to hang out and just have a good time!
