Topic Relevance through Current Events and Podcasting Presenter: Ken Baldauf Program in Interdisciplinary Computing - FSU
FSU’s NewProgram in Interdisciplinary Computing Working to raise the level of computer competence across all disciplines at FSU by: • Designing new computing and technology courses that address discipline-specific needs. • Enabling existing computing and technology courses to be opened up to non-majors. • Assisting teachers in injecting technology concepts and content into existing courses.
Why consider technology-based exercises in non-tech courses? • Provides access to subject-related materials from numerous sources • Opens opportunities for information sharing • Brings relevance to subject matter • Engages students in subject matter through different media • Sharpens tech skills making students more marketable • Allows students to innovate!
