Jazz, dance and music! • Where: Jazz dance itself originated from Africa when African people were brought to America on slave ships. • Then: Further developed in New Orleans where Jazz music became more and more popular. • Finally: From 1930-1960s, jazz dance developed into a professional style. • It was a hit in the 1950’s known in the undergrounds bars (illegal drinking and dancing)

  4. Main steps of jazz. • Moves Used In Jazz Dance include Jazz Hands, Kicks, Leaps, Sideways Shuffling, Rolled Shoulders, and Turned Knees.
