Change in EGNRET Chair • Mr. Andre van Rest retired from US DOE in January 2004. • Mr. Harvey Major is now the US lead for APEC activities involving the Expert Group on New and Renewable Energy Technologies and the Expert Group on Energy Efficiency and Conservation. • Dr. Cary Bloyd will Chair the EGNRET for the US.
EWG 27, March 24-25, 2004 Beijing, China • (EWG 26 was held in Seoul, Korea, December 1-5, 2003) • The Energy Business Network (EBN) held their 10th meeting in Hong Kong, China March 18, 2004. • In an effort to better link EBN activities with those of the EWG, the EBN will try to send at least one member to each Expert Group meeting and workshop. • The EBN held a special workshop on financing the energy infrastructure in Hong Kong, China in March 19, 2004. • The EBN attended the Expert Group Chairs meeting
EWG 27, March 24-25, 2004 Beijing, China • The importance of financing was highlighted and will be included on the agenda for the 6th Energy Ministers meeting.
