Helpful Information • Class begins at 7:55. It is important to be on time and prepared each day. • Weekly work packets go home each Tuesday. This is where you will find grades for the previous week. • Behavior cards go home each Friday. These must be signed by a parent and returned by Tuesday. Loss of privileges when not returned signed.
Helpful Information • Homework and tests are posted in each homeroom daily. • Homework packets weekly-Due each Friday (Bonus grade for completion!) • Breakfast-$ 0.75 • Lunch-$1.75 daily • Break-Bring money or snack daily
Helpful Information • Homework packets consist of the following items each week. • Spelling pages in spelling workbook for each week. Weekly reading story name listed at the top of each page. • Reading log showing record of reading for each day. Students should read 5-20 minutes each night. • Short math assignment. This varies. Students need to check “Assignment Board” for specific assignment.
Early Arrivals • Students dropped off by 7:40 each morning will be required to go directly to the elementary gym. • Breakfast begins at 7:30.
Car Riders • Car riders must be picked up in the pick-up line by Kindergarten. Elementary students will not be allowed to go anywhere else to get in a car in the afternoons.
Tests • Reading tests are usually on Thursday. Remember to study vocabulary each week. • Spelling tests are on Friday. Word list in spelling workbook. • Study the study guides for science and Alabama History tests. • Math test days will vary. • Language tests are usually on Wednesday.
Tests • Students should have a “Family Times” page in the reading workbook each week. This has the tested vocabulary for the week. It also tells the language skill students are working on. • Spelling lists are in the spelling workbook. Students should study these daily.
Elementary Student Council • Elections held at end of fourth grade. • Candidates must have an “A” average to run for office. • Attendance and tardies count! Candidates cannot have more than 5 unexcused absences and 5 tardy/check-outs. • Candidates must give a short speech.

Important Information • Please make sure the elementary office and your child’s teacher has current contact information such as phone numbers in case of emergency or early school dismissals.
