Finding Averages • The following is a table showing how many hours Ms. Clark played video games during a given week in summer: • Using this data, what is the average number of hours Ms. Clark played video games a day?
Finding Averages • To find the average, we add all of the numbers in the data set and divide by the total numbers in the set. • Ms. Clark played an average of 2 hours of video games a day.
Adding Fractions • Make sure the denominators (bottom numbers) are the same. • Add the numerators (top numbers). • Simplify the fraction (if needed)
