  2. What was his family life like? • His son John Quincy Adams was the sixth president. • He married Abigail Smith.

  3. Why was he famous? • He was the second president. • He was president from 1797 to 1801. • He kept the United States out of all the other countries’ wars. • He was the first man to gather all the men in the navy.

  4. Other interesting facts • In 1758 he became a lawyer and returned to Braintree. • He learned to read in 1771. • He studied Latin and Greek.

  5. When did he die? • He died on July 4 at the age of 90.
