  1. NAAS One Word Ice Breaker (5-10 minute activity) V1: June 2019

  2. Aim • This is an activity that can be done in under 10 minutes and is designed to quickly gauge the level of interest and understanding of NAAS. The activity is designed for a group of 10 or more but can be scaled up or down as appropriate. • This short icebreaker provides a snapshot of common thoughts and perceptions of NAAS. It is advised to re run this activity with the same group once they have taken the assessment or with new groups at different stages of the programme, to gauge whether perceptions have changed.

  3. What you need You do not need any resources for this activity but you may benefit from the use of a flip chart to make a note of comments.

  4. Activity • Divide the group into two equal numbers • Ask the group to think for one minute for one word that best describes NAAS for them • After the minute give each group a minute or two for discussion • Ask the groups to share their common words with the larger group and it would be the role of the NAAS lead to facilitate the conversation and take the opportunity to address any concerns • If you would like to develop this activity you could ask the group to action plan based on common areas of concern or strengths and tailor your communications accordingly.
