Control Key (C-Key) • Main functions of the C-Key: • Retrieving audit trail from cylinders • Updating authorizations in cylinders • Verifying security software login • The c-key contains 2 memory areas: • List of task (LOT) - 767 tasks • Memory for audit trail – 12 Kbit • There are 2 types of C-Keys: • Master C-Key (MCK); one per system • Normal C-Key (NCK); optional; many per system 2
CLIQ Keys – types • Quartz key • CLIQ key with internal clock (quartz) • Weekly schedule (32 windows of time per week) • Audit trail with date / time information • Authorization change must be done in the cylinder • Cannot be updated by a Remote PD • QuartzXT key • Same function as the Quartz key, but with extended memory • Can be updated by a Remote PD • Quartz+ key • CLIQ key with internal clock and extended memory • Weekly schedule (32 windows of time per week) • Audit trail with date / time information • List of authorized cylinders (LOAL) authorizations can be changed in the key • Can be updated by a Remote PD 3

Mobile Programming Device (Mobile PD) Used by key holders • Mobile: • Key holders can get updates for their keys anywhere • The Mobile PD uses a cellular telephone or a laptop as a modem • Updates for users keys: • Authorizations & time profiles • Time synchronization • Retrieving audit trail • Re-occurring authorizations (re-validation) • Power supply: • 4 x AAA batteries 12

The Lock Chart Work Lock chart • Partial view of the authorization • Cylinder only, no information about LOAL in Quartz+ keys • ‘Create your own Lock Chart’… • Selecting cylinders & keys to be presented • Authorize or un-authorize keys/key groups in a Cylinder • Black – key/key group is in cylinder’s LOAK • White – Not authorized (not in LOAK) • To update the cylinder go to Work Programming and send the tasks to a C-Key 21

Exam (‘hands on’) Follow the below instructions with your demo kit(in groups) • First configuration assignment • Authorizations & schedule • One key always authorized • Second key – out of schedule now, in schedule within 5 minutes • Hand out information • Key#1 to Angelina Jolie, with daily re-validation • Key#2 to Julia Roberts, with weekly re-validation • Change to: • Key#1 – Remote change - new schedule – access from 08:00 to 17:00 on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday • Key#2 – Local change – hand in and read audit trail 26
Exam - Questions • I am trying to authorize a new Cylinder in a Quartz+ key. In the ‘Cylinders authorized’ tab, when I search for this cylinder I can not see it. What can be the problem? • I want to login to the system using my NCK. I’ve already imported the certificate. When I try to browse to the CLIQ Web site I am getting an error, although the web server is up and running. What can be the reason for that? • Describe the flow of reading AT from a cylinder. 27
