Scope of work to be undertaken • Service layer plays an important role in the end-to-end QoS. • But today, this is not taken into consideration and most of all, the services do not account for it. • The user centric session is the mean to choose the component of services in order to have the overall personalized service, from the terminal level to the service level, through the network level. • Today SIP supports network resource allocation. It seems as well to be a good candidate for resource allocation at service level. • Also, from a user centric point of view, QoS could be enhanced by using service composition, for which SIP could also be useful.. • Moreover, such possibility could be seen as a new opportunity for operators to provide new offers with their partners. • A standardized approach for the composition of services supporting E2E QoS should facilitate the convergence of Telco and IT services.
