The Paper Napkin Trick Directions: 1) Read the entire paragraph 2) Reread and sequence 3) Use the pictures to help you write what happened in order If you like magic, here is a puzzling trick for you. It is easy to do. You take a large paper napkin and twist it into a long, thin shape. Then you ask someone to tear it in half. When the napkin is twisted, it will be quite strong. It will be almost impossible to tear. While your audience is trying to tear the napkin, secretly we your fingers in a glass of water. Then offer to do the trick. As you take the napkin, place your wet fingers around the center. Your wet fingers will moisten the center of the napkin. When you try to tear the napkin, it will be easy to tear. Your audience will not understand how you could do it so easily.
